Scope and boundaries

Nature of this documentation

QRProtocol.us publishes the rules, standards and governance documentation for operations within the QR system. The documentation describes how governed operations are permitted to behave. It is a documentation surface, not an operational registry and not the authoritative operational record.

No governmental authority

QR Protocol is a private governance framework. It is not a government agency, is not endorsed or accredited by any government body, and does not issue any governmental certification, licence or regulatory approval.

No universal internet authority

QR Protocol does not operate, control or claim authority over DNS, the public internet or QR code technology generally. Routing rules described here apply only to domains and systems within this ecosystem.

No absolute-security claims

Nothing on this site should be read as a claim of tamper-proofing, unhackability, absolute immutability or guaranteed prevention of misuse. The system defines governed states, recording requirements and audit evidence — no more, no less.

Departmental boundaries

Registration is performed by QRRegistered.us. Certification is determined by QRCertified.us. Compliance is handled by QRCompliance.us. The operational record and dossier are held by QRCodex.us. QRProtocol.us performs none of those operations; it governs the applicable rules.

Accuracy and revision

Protocol documents carry a version, an effective date and a revision history. Published documents may be revised. Where a document is marked for review, that notice is displayed on the document itself.

Trademarks and terminology

QR Code is a widely used technology term. This ecosystem claims no ownership of the underlying QR code technology. Ecosystem names — QuickResponseCode.us, QRCodex.us, QRRegistered.us, QRCertified.us, QRCompliance.us and QRProtocol.us — identify departments within this system.
