QRCodex provides the operational Codex environment connecting the registered QR with its records, relationships, dossier, state, event history, evidence and authorized system interactions.
QRCodex is the operational core of the QR system. It maintains the authoritative record, the dossier and the evidence associated with a registered QR identity, together with its state, relationships and event history.
QRProtocol does not replace QRCodex and does not create a second registry alongside it. Protocol establishes the applicable rules — including which events must be recorded — and the Codex maintains the operational record that satisfies those requirements.
When a question concerns what actually happened to a specific QR object, that question is answered by the record in the Codex, not by Protocol documentation.
Responsibilities

- — Operational lookup of QR objects and authorized dossiers
Boundaries
- — QRCodex does NOT replace QR Registered
- — QRProtocol does not duplicate the Codex record

How it interacts with the system
- Protocol establishes recording requirements; the Codex maintains the records
- Registration performed by QRRegistered is reflected in the Codex environment
- Certification determinations made by QRCertified are recorded as evidence
- Audit and reconstruction of governed activity resolve to the Codex
